Mr. Bobby Elvin Lucas, age 86, of Jefferson, S.C. and most recently of The Legacy of Hartsville, S.C. entered rest, Wednesday evening, June 22, 2022. Born in Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Samuel Lee Lucas and Hattie Smothers Lucas. Mr. Lucas was a Quality Control manager in the textile industry for over 30 years. He enjoyed having a good cookout and dining out. Bobby raised and raced horses for over 10 years. He faithfully attended Flat Creek Baptist Church. He was a fan of Ford motorcars. He along with his wife cherished the time they spent with family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Rosie Jackson Lucas also of The Legacy of Hartsville; his adopted family, Charles and Jan Simpson and their children, Alan and Memi; 3 nieces, Faye Jenkins of Mount Croghan, S.C., Debbie (Ray) Watson of Chesterfield, S.C. and Kim J. (Robbie) Isgett of Patrick, S.C.; a nephew, Derek (Natalie) Jackson of Winnsboro, S.C. and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Friday evening, June 24, 2022, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, June 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Flat Creek Baptist Church, 3737 Victory Road, Kershaw, S.C. Rev. Bart Miles and Mr. W.T. Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
