Bobbie Ruth Sullivan Payne Reeves, 92, of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away, Friday morning, October 28, 2022, in Heath Springs Residential Care Center, Heath Springs, S.C. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Minor and Madge Myrtis Johnson Sullivan. Mrs. Reeves had been a caretaker. She was a faithful member of Oakhurst Baptist Church. She enjoyed painting, crocheting and making crafts.
Mrs. Reeves is survived by 5 children, Mitchell Payne, Patty (Ricky) Holden, Pamela (Mark) Faulkenberry, Rhonda Franz and Carlette (Aad) vanKampen; 13 grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren, a sister, Myrtis Jolene (Francis) S. Twitty and a daughter-in-law, Valerie Payne. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Coleman “Clayton” Payne, who predeceased her in 1970 and her second husband, James Elliott “Lopey” Reeves, who predeceased her in 2019; her son, Rickey Payne; 4 sisters, Emma Dine S. Wright, Margarite S. Rollins, Etta Mae S. Williams and Mary Louise S. Jackson and 5 brothers, Steve Preston Sullivan, Mendol Johnson Sullivan, James Muroe Sullivan, Robert Franklin Sullivan and William Howard Sullivan.
Funeral services for Mrs. Reeves will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday morning, October 31, 2022, in the sanctuary of Oakhurst Baptist Church, Heath Springs, S.C. The Revs. Dr. Larry Twitty and Michael Owens will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery, Kershaw, S.C.
The family will greet friends, Monday, October 31, 2022, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the church Fellowship Hall.
Memorial remembrances in memory of Mrs. Reeves may be made to Heath Springs Residential Care Center, 614 Hart Street, Heath Springs, S.C. 29058.
