Funeral services for Billy Ray Gainey, 53, of Kershaw will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2012 at Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw. The Revs. Charles Watkins, Bobby Owens and Mr. Timmy Bowers will officiate. Burial will follow in the House of Prayer Church Cemetery, John Munn Road, Bethune, SC. Mr. Ganiey died Sunday, December 9, in an automobile accident. Born in Chester, he was the son of Dorothy Louise Mosley Outen and the late Malcolm Gainey. Mr. Gainey founded House of Prayer Church in 1994 and was a farmer. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and wading in creeks. Mr. Ganiey loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his mother of Kershaw is his wife; Brenda Mosley Gainey of the home, a son; Johnny Lee Gainey, Sr. and his wife Faith of Cassatt, 2 grandchildren; Kristy Annah Rachael Gainey and Johnny Lee Gainey, Jr., 5 brothers; Olin Gainey of Hartsville, Richard Outen of Kershaw, Robert Wayne Gainey (Sandra) of Chesterfield, Larry Gainey (Brenda) of Kershaw and Scott Outen of Pageland. He was preceded in death by his son; Billy Ray Gainey, Jr., his step-father; J.L. Outen, a brother; Randall Outen and a sister; Brenda Waites. The family will receive friends, Thursday, December 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.at Baker Conference Center and other times at the home, 5144, Mt. Pisgah Rd., Kershaw. Memorial contributions may be made to House of Prayer Church, c/o Dorothy Outen, 1027 Buffalo Creek Rd, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
