Billy Joe Catoe

A service to remember the life of Billy Joe Catoe, 85 of Lancaster, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019, from the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. A private burial will precede the service in the Kershaw City Cemetery.

Mr. Catoe passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, May 14. He retired from Bowater after 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferris and Vivian Catoe; his brother, Earl Catoe and his son, Bobby Catoe. Mr. Catoe leaves a legacy of love and laughter with his wife of 50 years, Judy Broach Catoe, as well as his sister, Ellen (Cecil) Horton of Mountain Rest; 2 sons, Donny Catoe of Kershaw, Mike Steele of Clover; 2 daughters, Chrys Steele of Lancaster, Layne (Dave) McCrostie of Denver, NC; sister-in-law, Sandra Catoe; daughter-in-law, Nancy Catoe of Kershaw; 11 grandchildren, Jodie Cunningham, Alan Catoe, Andy Catoe, Kelsey Catoe, Chris Hunter, Jason Hunter, Devin Steele, Derek Steele, Matthew Steele, Jon Huckaby and Maggie McCrostie; 5 great grandchildren, Charley, Kennedie, Asher, Annalise and August and an extended family who cherished him.

The family will receive friends, immediately following the remembrance service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
