Funeral services for Billie Parker Deaton, 61, of Kershaw, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Tuesday, January 23, in the sanctuary of Kershaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Mrs. Deaton, loving wife of Tim Deaton passed away, Friday, January 19, at Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Robert J. Parker, Sr. and Katheryn Lee Parker. Mrs. Deaton was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School, Class of 1975, and received degrees from Winthrop College, USC-Lancaster and York Technical College. She was currently the administrative assistant for the Kershaw News Era. Mrs. Deaton was a member of Heath Springs Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Kershaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She was also was a former member of the King Alfred Garden Club.
Surviving are her husband of the home; 3 children, Allen Deaton and his fiancé April Gardner, Zach Deaton and his wife Mackenzie Deaton and Elizabeth Deaton and her fiancé, Richard Jackson; 9 grandchildren, Aiden Callahan, Lucas Peters, Jacob Deaton, Sean Deaton, Ellison Deaton, Gavin Deaton, Kailey Catoe, Davis Jackson and Gage Jackson; 2 sisters, Beth Bray and Carole Hardy; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Garner and her husband Brian Garner, Paul Gantt and his wife Robin Gantt, Raven Banner and her spouse Michelle and Amanda Hardy; great niece and nephew, Brian Garner and Madison Mast. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert J. ”Bobby” Parker, Jr.
The family will receive friends, Monday, January 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.
