Betty Payne Deese

Funeral services for Betty Payne Deese, 80, of Kershaw, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 1, 2018, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Hammond and Mr. Floyd Helms will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, Monday, one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Deese passed away, Thursday, September 27. Born in Kershaw, she was a daughter of the late Hubert Elmore Payne and Ella Lucas Payne. She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Deese loved watching soap operas, cooking and canning.

Surviving are her husband of 61, years, James Crawford Deese of the home; 2 daughters, Jackie Deese (Charles) Clark of Heath Springs, Michelle Deese (George) Rollins of Kershaw; 2 grandchildren, Jason (Crystal) Clark of Heath Springs, Amanda Clark (Chad) Truesdale of Camden; 3 great grandchildren, Khia Clark, Cole Truesdale and Lily Truesdale; 2 brothers, Nelson Payne of Heath Springs and Truman “Bo Peep” (Missy) Payne of Kershaw. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by a son, Michael Crawford Deese and 10 brothers and sisters.
