Funeral services for Elizabeth Jane Betty Beckham Richardson, 89, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010, in Pleasant Hill A.R.P. Church. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Rev. Dr. James Barker will officiate.

Mrs. Richardson died Friday, July 23. Born in the Pleasant Hill Community of Heath Springs, she was the daughter of the late Earl Roy and Bertha Allie Blackmon Beckham. A retired educator, Mrs. Richardson loved children. She taught in the Lancaster County School System for 27 years, most of those years at Heath Springs Elementary School. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill A.R.P. Church, where she sang in the choir, was a Sunday School teacher and served in various capacities. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 31. After retiring, she and her husband of 59 years, the late Hagood O'Neil Toby Richardson traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad.

Mrs. Richardson was blessed with 3 sons; Neil Richardson and his wife Taunia of Anderson, Kim Richardson and his wife Katie of Mt. Pleasant, Van Richardson and his wife Fran of Heath Springs, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a sister; Lucille Ellis of Fort Mill, S.C. and a brother; Rev. Roy E. Beckham of Due West, S.C..

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Church, Sunday, July 25.
