Bettie Sue Hunter Jones

A funeral service for Bettie Sue Hunter Jones, 89, of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Eric Boone will officiate.

Mrs. Jones, loving wife of the late Glenn Laurin Jones died Tuesday, May 2, 2017, in Kershaw Health, Camden, SC. Born in Kershaw, SC, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Azilee Ogburn Hunter. She was the former owner/operator of Jones Kiddieland Day Care and a licensed daycare director for other daycares. She was a member of Hanging Rock United Methodist Church and loved to crochet and cross-stitch. Mrs. Jones enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly on annual beach trips. She enjoyed caring for her family by preparing good meals and always had homemade pound cake and ice cream on hand. Her fondest memories revolved around a rocking chair and a front porch, whether at her mother’s or at the beach. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Jones was a graduate of Kershaw High School and the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are her three children, Susan J. Faile and her husband Mike of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Sherry J. Truesdale and her husband Harry Kay of Kershaw, SC and Laurin Sidney Jones and his wife Diane of Easley, SC; 7 grandchildren, Joel (Angie) Faile , J.P. (Faith) Truesdale , Daniel (Erika) Faile , Monica T. (Lance) Polson, Rebekah T. (David) Branham, Emily Williams and Chris(Molly) Jones and 13 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, May 6, 2017, one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 o’clock p.m. at the funeral home.
