Beth S. Morgan

Beth Sowell Morgan age 81 of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Friday, October 20, 2023, at Pageland Care Facility, Pageland, S.C. Born in Lancaster County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late James William “J.W.” Sowell and Evelyn Catoe Sowell. She received her master’s degree from Winthrop College and was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling and taking pictures. She also loved her dogs.

She is survived by 2 sons, Timothy (Letha) Brown and Reid (Wanda) Brown; 6 grandchildren, Derek, Breanna, Caleb, Ryan, Ross and Bode’; 4 great grandchildren, Allie, Collin, Karter, and Lilah; her stepson, Thomas Nolan Morgan, III; her stepdaughter, Caroline Morgan and her sister-in-law, Betty Sue Sowell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Nolan Morgan and 2 brothers, James William “Jimmy” Sowell, and Wendell Ervin Sowell.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in the sanctuary of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson, S.C. Rev. Terry Corder will officiate. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends following the burial in the cemetery.
