Bertie Phillips Williams

Funeral services for Bertie Phillips Williams, 91, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 2, 2008, in Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. The Revs. Jamie Rogers and Hugh McKinney will officiate.

Mrs. Williams, widow of Bud Fred Williams died Sunday, November 30, 2008 in Lancaster Convalescent Center, Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Bessie Jane Knight Phillips. She was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church and was active with the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Mrs. Williams was retired from Springs Industries.

Surviving are her son; Frederick E. Freddy Williams and his wife Barbara of Kershaw, four grandchildren; Joseph Williams, Jennifer Faile, Cheryl Scott and Frances Bagwell, eight great grandchildren; Ethan Williams, Evan Williams, Ari Riddle, Talan Faile, Courtney Scott, Kirsten Scott, Marissa Bagwell and Aleshia Bagwell, one sister; Faye P. Ellis of Lancaster and a daughter in law; Judy Williams of Kershaw. She was preceded in death by a son; Joseph Alfred Williams.

The family will receive friends, Monday, December 1, 2008 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home.
