A graveside service for Bertha Mae McConnell McEntire, 91, of Kershaw, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012, in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Hope Avins will officiate. Mrs. McEntire died Friday, February 24, in Springdale Healthcare Center, Camden. Born in Newberry, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Ed and Addie Mae Maw McConnell. Mrs. McEntire was a member of First United Methodist Church where she served faithfully in various capacities and was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Julian Norris “Buddy” McEntire, Sr. of Kershaw; two daughters, Julia Roberts (Wayne) of Kershaw, Lucy Newman (Travis) of Lugoff; three sons, Norris McEntire of Heath Springs, Harrison McEntire (Martha) of Kershaw, Ed McEntire (Debbie) of Kershaw; ten grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Harvey and Kitty Abrams both of Newberry, S.C. The family will speak to friends following the service at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 305 West Church Street, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
