Funeral services with full military honors for Tec. Sgt. Bennie Laddie Hinson, 92, will be held Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor St., Kershaw, SC, with burial to follow in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. James Way will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Baker Funeral Home , 210 E. Hilton St., Kershaw, SC, from 6:00 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buffalo Baptist Church, 6390 Lockhart Road, Kershaw, SC 29067.
Mr. Hinson died Monday, July 6, 2009. Born in Lancaster County, SC, he was the son of the late James and Rebecca McManus Hinson. He had retired from the US Air Force as a Tec. Sergeant and was a veteran of World War II. He had also retired from the Kendall Company after 13 years of service. Mr. Hinson was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church where he had served as a former Sunday School teacher of the Senior Adult Group and was a member of the Young at Heart.. Mr. Hinson was also an avid fisherman.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Annie Grace Vincent Hinson; daughter, Karen Hamilton (Jon) of Gainesville, Ga.; sons, Kenneth L. Hinson (Cindy C.) of Kershaw and Jeff Hinson (Anita) of Rock Hill; 3 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 4 step great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a step granddaughter, Adriane Henderson.
