Funeral services for Ben Frank Threatt, 82, of Bethune will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Bethune Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Scotch Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Cockrell will officiate. Mr. Threatt was born March 1, 1929 and died peacefully at his home Monday, October 17, 2011. Born in Jefferson, he was the son of the late Henry and Martha Deason Threatt. He was a devoted husband and father, and was a very proud grandfather. Mr. Threatt was a former employee of Wilson Gas and Oil and later became the owner and operator of Threatt Gas and Oil. He enjoyed farming and was a Nascar fan and enjoyed drag racing in his early years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patty McDonald Threatt; son, Benjamin Joseph Threatt (Susan) of Granville, MI: son, Jerre Franklin Threatt (Tiffaney) of Columbia; sister, Beatrice Blanks of Rock Hill and eight grandchildren. The family is very grateful to the staff from Hospice of Tri-County for all the loving and supportive care provided to Ben and his wife Pat. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Tri-County, 2039 W. DeKalb Street, Camden, S.C. 29020. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw.
