Graveside services for Aubrey Leon Holton, age 73, of Bethune, S.C. will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in Timrod Baptist Church Cemetery, Bethune, S.C. Rev. Jeremy Ussery and Mr. Nate Whitman will officiate. The burial will follow in the cemetery with Military honors.
The family will receive friends, from 5:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M., Friday, August 30, 2024, at BAKER CONFERENCE CENTER, 105 N. Minor Street, Kershaw, S.C.
Mr. Holton passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, surrounded by his family at MUSC Medical Center, Charleston, S.C. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, he was a son of the late Aubrey Lee “Al” Holton and Sarah Marcheta Raines Holton. Leon honorably served in the United States Marine Corps and was the former owner of Holton Farms of Bethune, S.C. He was a member of Timrod Baptist Church. Leon enjoyed fishing, hunting, competitive shooting, RVing, cooking, especially grilling and was a NASCAR fan. He also loved his afternoon rides with his beloved dog, Mia.
He is survived by his faithful, loving companion and caretaker, Wanda Sims; step children, Yancey (Ellen) Stephens, Christopher (Nicole) Sims, Tonya Stephens, and Sonya (Ricky) Toney; ten grandchildren, Gretta West, Tanner Stephens, Rylee Stephens, Abby Sims, Audri Phillips, Olivia Sims, CJ Sims, Reed Toney, Sawyer Toney and Shelby Toney; two great grandchildren, Brynlee Stephens and Banks Stephens; cousins, Charlie (Jeannette) Dubyak and Jean Edwards, and his aunt, Azilda Cooper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marcheta Loraine Holton.
