Annie Wallace Pope

A funeral service for Annie Wallace Pope 90, of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2015, in the sanctuary of Midway Baptist Church, Kershaw, SC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Todd Gandy, Tony Pope and Eric Truesdale will officiate. Mrs. Pope, widow of Rev. Clayton William Pope, Sr. died peacefully at Lancaster Convalescent Center, Lancaster, SC, Thursday morning, March 12, 2015. Born in Peachland, NC, she was a daughter of the late William Vander and Louisa Taylor Wallace. Mrs. Pope was a member of Midway Baptist Church where she participated in the W.M.U. and the Young at Heart. Mrs. Pope was also a excellent seamstress. Surviving are two daughters, Carol Pope Williams and her husband R.D. of St. Paul, NC, Rebecca Pope Estridge and her husband Jerry of Anderson, SC; two sons, Clayton Pope and his wife Jackie and Lamar Pope and his wife Cindy all of Kershaw, SC; twelve grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Stevens of Albemarle, NC, and Mae Wallace of Charlotte, NC and a sister-in-law, Frances Wallace of Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Aileen Biggers, Virginia Blalock and two brothers, Vander Wallace and Irvin Wallace. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 15, following the burial in the church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home of her son Lamar, 6023 Old Lancaster Highway, Kershaw, SC. Memorials may be made to Midway Baptist Church- Building Fund, 7760 Old Jefferson Highway, Kershaw, SC 29067 in memory of Mrs. Pope.
