Funeral services for Annie Mae Neal Smith, 86, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 11, at Center Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith died Saturday, August 8, in Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Charlie T. and Eva Mae Gainor Horton. She was retired from the L. & C. Railway. She was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church where she was a member of The T.E.L. Sunday School Class and past W.M.U. director and had served in various capacities.
Surviving are her son; The Honorable James M. Jimmy Neal ( S.C. House of Representative District 44) and his wife Harriett of Kershaw, step-daughter; Faith Connelly of Pendleton, step-son; Bill Smith and his wife Gwen of Beaufort, two grandchildren; Bryant Neal and Scott Neal, step granddaughter; Debbie Edmonds, five great-grandchildren; Laura Beth Neal, Bry Neal, Blythe Neal, Sloane Neal and Ava Neal, two step-great-grandchildren; Dillon Edmonds and Hunter Edmonds. She was preceded in death by her first husband; James M. Neal and her second husband William Bryant Smith, a great-granddaughter; Emily Elizabeth Neal, a sister; Grace Kirk and two brothers; Jack Horton and Melvin Horton.
The family will receive friends, Monday, August 10, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 5148 Sandy Lane, Kershaw.
