A funeral service for Anita Phillips McCain, 47, will be held at 1:00 o’clock p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in the sanctuary of Kershaw Second Baptist church. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Joey Phillips, Corey Blackmon and William McCain will conduct the service.
Mrs. McCain died May 5, 2017, at CMC-Main, Charlotte, NC. Born in Darlington, SC, she was a daughter of Gladys Ann Neal Phillips and Jimmy Phillips and the late Samuel Dewitt Phillips and Ronald Douglas Adams. She was a CNA, a store manager for Dollar General in Kershaw and a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. She also enjoyed spending time with her son and working. Mrs. McCain was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School.
Surviving in addition to her mother and father of Kershaw are her husband, Hazel Lewis “Woody” McCain of Kershaw; her son, Matthew McCain of Kershaw; 3 siblings, Stacey (Sandie) Phillips of Kershaw, Angie (Billy) Hilton of Kershaw and Douglas Adams of Irmo; 7 nieces and nephews; 4 great nieces and nephews and special friend, Abbie Miles.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 9, prior to the service beginning at 11:00 o’clock a.m. in the church Family Life Center and other times at the home of her parents, 852 Ned’s Creek Rd., Kershaw.
