Anita Gay Melton

Anita Gay Melton, age 69, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Thursday morning, December 7, 2023, at MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center, Camden, S.C. She was born in Lancaster, S.C., January 28, 1954, to the late Walter Gay and Nellie Mae Walters Gay. Antia was the owner of Flat Rock Upholstery for many years. She helped many people with their recovering needs throughout the years. She loved to be out on the water, boating. She also enjoyed sewing, fishing and her dogs.

She is survived by her husband, William Monroe “Billy” Melton, Sr. of the home; her stepchildren, Karen Bacon and her husband, Bruce and William Monroe “Will” (Ashley) Melton, Jr.; five grandchildren, Morgan Bacon, Madelyn (Kaleb) Boland, Blake Melton, Brady Melton and Vixey Anna Melton and her sister-in-law, Rita Clark Gay and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Gay.

The family invites you to pay your respects on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the home.
