Angela Hunter Helms

Angela Hunter "Angie"  Helms, age 66 of Kershaw, S.C. passed away Friday evening, December 13, 2024, in Lancaster, S.C. from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Angie was born in Camden, S.C. to the late Walter Edgar Hunter and Marie Langley Catoe on February 23, 1958. She was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church. Angie enjoyed working in her yard, shopping, and line dancing. She was especially fond of her fur babies. Most of all, Angie loved her grandchildren. Angie was married to the late David Larry Helms.

She is survived by her son, Wes Phillips and his wife, Elizabeth of Lancaster, S.C.; her daughter, Mindy Davis of Kershaw, S.C.; her grandchildren, Matthew Sweatt, Garrett Sweatt and fiance Madison, Tanner Sweatt and his wife, Ally, Lila Grace Phillips, Mary Taylor Phillips, Kaylie Davis, Chole Davis and Ethan Davis; her great grandchildren, Kayden and Shelby; her brother, Robbie Hunter, and his wife, Lee of Kershaw, S.C.; her niece and nephew, Emilee Hunter and Ryan Hunter; her aunt and uncle, Gwen Young and Jimmy Young; her step daughter, Alea Bell and her husband, Chris of Gastonia, N.C.; her step son, David Helms and his wife, Sadie of Mt. Holly, N.C.; step grandchildren, Joshua Inscoe and his wife, Anna, Hunter Hallman, Alyssa Hallman, Kalynne Davis and her husband, Koda, Lauren Helms, Sarah Helms, Landon Helms, Jacob Helms, and Isiah Burgess; step great grandchildren, Paisley, Eowyn, Tessa, Evie and Nolan. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Billy Joe Helms. 

A funeral service for Angie will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2024, in the sanctuary of Sand Hill Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C. The Revs. Michael Owens and Craigan Blankenship will officiate the service. The burial will follow in the Sand Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Helms to the Kershaw County Humane Society, 128 Black River Rd., Camden, SC 29020.
