Alvin Harper, Sr.

The family will hold a gathering and visitation for Alvin Timothy Harper, Sr., 55, of Kershaw and formerly of Covington, GA., Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at 3:30 P.M. in Baker Funeral Home. Mr. Harper will be cremated following the gathering. Mr. Harper died Tuesday, September 13, in KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Covington, Ga., he was the son of the late Elmer and Evelyn Massey Harper. Mr. Harper was a truck driver and a very talented woodworker. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife; Patricia Byrnes of the home, a daughter; Keri Yelton (Steve) of Covington, GA, 3 sons, T.J. Harper (Shei) of Covington, GA., Timothy Harper (Jessica) of Madison, GA. and Bryan Harper (Trina Hamby) of Kershaw, 4 grandchildren; Junior Yelton, Torrey Yelton, Jada Harper, Nathaniel Harper, Camron Harper and 1 unborn grandchild, 3 sisters; Susan Marchman, Joyce McClure and Kathy Savage all of Covington, Ga..
