Funeral services for Almetta Hunter Estridge, 85, of Lancaster, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. The Revs. Don Knight and Carl Hunter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Estridge died Saturday, November 3, at Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late William Ernest and Ruth Roberts Hunter. She was a former employee of Springs Industries and a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. She also enjoyed word search puzzles. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Joseph William “Joe” Estridge, Jr. Surviving are 2 sons; Larry Estridge and his wife Cecilia of Lancaster, Danny Estridge of Kershaw, 2 daughters; Kaye Estridge of Myrtle Beach, Pat Jenkins and her husband Randy of Lancaster, 3 grandsons; Chris Estridge and his wife Kim of Myrtle Beach, Zack Estridge of Myrtle Beach and Gregory Jenkins of Lancaster, a great granddaughter; Elizabeth Estridge of Myrtle Beach, 3 brothers; Ira B. Hunter and Tom Hunter both of Kershaw, Rev. Carl Hunter of Franklinton, N.C., 3 sisters; Pauline Taylor and Sue Humphries both of Kershaw, Barbara Carnes of Lancaster and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, Monday evening, November 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 210 N. Ingram Street, Kershaw. Memorial contributions may be made to Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737 Kershaw-Camden Highway, Kershaw, S.C. 29067 or White Springs Baptist Church, 1249 Grace Avenue, Lancaster, S.C. 29720.
