Alice Stevens Huggins

Funeral services for Alice Stevens Huggins, 90, of Kershaw will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 11, 2011, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the St. Matthews United Methodist Church Cemetery, Bishopville, S.C. Brother J.R. Rosado will officiate. Mrs. Huggins, widow of Fred M. Huggins, Sr. died Thursday, September 8, in KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Bishopville, she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Capell Stevens. She was retired from Caro-Knit, Jefferson and a member of Church of Christ, Camden. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. Surviving are a daughter; Frances H. Adams, 4 sons; Marion (Katie) Huggins, Edward (Bobbie) Huggins, Charles E. Huggins, Sr. all of Kershaw and Fred M. (Vivian) Huggins, Jr. of Westville, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great - great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a son; Wayne Huggins of Cassatt. The family will receive friends, Saturday, September 10, from 3:00 to 4:30 P.M. at the funeral home and following the visitation Mrs. Huggins body will be carried home. The family would like to thank Amanda Huggins, a loving granddaughter and caretaker for the love and care she has given to her grandmother all these years.
