Alice J. Catoe

Funeral services for Alice Johnson Catoe, 89, of Heath Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2012, in High Point Baptist Church, Lancaster. The Revs. Bobby Joyner, Gerald McCants and Jeff Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Jefferson, S.C. Mrs. Catoe, widow of Floyd Cleatis Catoe died Saturday, March 31, at her home. Born in the Mt. Pisgah Community of Kershaw Co., she was the daughter of the late Roy and Molly Phillips Johnson. She had retired from Grace Bleachery and a member of High Point Baptist Church. She also enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and cooking. She especially loved spending time with her family. Surviving are two daughters, Pat McCants (Gerald) of Florence, Frieda Waters (Freddie) of Kershaw, a brother, Hubert Johnson of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Sherri Pearson, Michelle Lemon (Lenny), Bryon McCants, Timothy McCants (Mai), Marty Waters (Deanna), Allison Mangum (Jason); thirteen great grandchildren, Heather, Cody, Zachery, Seth, Megan, Christian, Sara, Lane, Kolby, Kade, Brayden, Kyleigh and Ryleigh. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn C. Blackwell, four brothers and eight sisters. The family will receive Monday, April 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw .
