Agnes B. Weill

Agnes Brandon Weill, 98, of Camden, S.C., passed away, Wednesday, May 27, 2020, in KershawHealth, Camden. Born in Sharron, S.C., she was a daughter of the late, Lewis Robinson Brandon and Lottie Pruett Brandon. She worked in the accounting field before becoming a homemaker.

Agnes was part of what can be described as the greatest generation. She was a devoted wife to Stancil Brent “Stan” Weill and a beloved aunt and great aunt. As a young woman, she helped to support her family after the untimely death of her father and aided her younger siblings through college. Throughout her life, she built a home together with her husband and traveled to parts of Europe. For the last 15 years of her life, she has resided at Morningside Assisted Living in Camden. Mrs. Weill was a well known avian enthusiast. Agnes was recently described by a family member as “one tough cookie” and she could accurately determine if something actually is the best thing since sliced bread, as her memory predated such.

While living in Kershaw, she was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church until she moved to Camden and joined Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Robinson Brandon of Mobile, AL and 2 sisters, Ruby B. Cooper of Inman, S.C. and Ellen B. Williams, of Kershaw, S.C.

She leaves behind members of the extended Brandon, Williams and Weill families. Many of them consider her to be an extra mother and grandmother, as she cared just as deeply for her extended family as she did for her siblings all those years ago. Her humor and timely wisdom will be missed by all that loved her.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held, Sunday, May 31, 2020, at 2:00 o’clock p.m. in the Kershaw City Cemetery, 190 Edwards Avenue, Kershaw, S.C. 29067. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
