A memorial service for Major William Hagood Fletcher, USAF (Retired), 85 of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Fletcher died Thursday, March 26, 2015, in KershawHealth, Camden, SC. Born in Kershaw, SC, he was a son of the late Oscar Alexander and Mary Williams Fletcher. Mr. Fletcher retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service to his country. He was a fighter pilot during the Vietnam Era. He also enjoyed woodworking. In previous years, Mr. Fletcher loved to hunt and fish. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Martha Lee Fletcher; a daughter, Sandra F. “Sandy” Thompson of Liberty Hill, SC; a son, Roger Fletcher of Anderson, SC; two sisters, Jean F. Bowers, Mary Ann Adams, and two brothers, Jesse Fletcher and Oren Fletcher. He was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtis Blackmon, and three brothers, Oscar, James and Robert Fletcher. The family would like to thank Mitch and Martha Fletcher for the love and care shown to Mr. Fletcher and his family. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
