I am so sorry for your loss. Reading the obituary I discovered that your father was a liberator of the Kaufering concentration camp. My mother-in-law and her sister were survivors of the Holocaust and were at Kaufering at the time of liberation. My in-laws were ther first surviviors to arrive in Columbia in 1949 after being sponsored by the synagogue. They lost everyone else in theit immediate family. For years they wanted to thank the soldiers who freed them. I would love to chat with you and learn more about your father's experience in the war. I also Chair a Holocaust Education Foundation for our state and we want to honor the memory of liberators. I hope to hear from you. Again, my sincere sympahty for your loss.
Regards,
Minda Miller

My family and I are so very sorry for your loss. I would hear about Mr. Baxley through Judy, Janice, and Mildred. They called me to let me know he passed. My parents really enjoyed being his neighbors while they lived beside him. My brother, Ken-Ken,and I were going to come to Kershaw for the visitation but I see that everything is today. I will not be able to get off work to make it to the funeral. We are thinking about you all and keeping you in our prayers.

Dear children and other family members,
It was such a pleasure to have known your father. He was always bright and cheerful no matter what kind of pain he may have felt. We really enjoyed having him come to our place for picnics, parties etc. Driving Sheila to her radiation treatments was uplifted by having him with us to joke around with, go out to lunch with, and make a somber experience much better than it could have been. Mr. Olin will be missed very much by his friends. Heaven will be even better by his presence.
Love to all, and God be with you!

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Please find comfort in the resurrection promise at John 5:28 that reads: "Marvel not at this, for the hour is coming when all that are in the graves shall hear his voice and come forth."

We are saddened by Olin's death, but this sad event helps us remember the happy times our families spent togeather and the milestones we saw him celebrate. He was a dear cousin to my mother Myra Coates and a good friend to my father Everette Coates. I cannot attend the service or visitation but will send a contribution to Hospice Care of SC. I am recuperating from back surgery and have my follow up visit to the doctor on the day of his funeral. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
